Once again the holiday season is upon us. I took some time out to catch up with Music City News Media & Marketing's Anna Garrott to see what the artists are up to for the holidays, if they had any special holiday memories to share and what their New Years Resolutions for 2010 are. Anna Garrott is currently celebrating the release of her new CD "Only Time Will Tell" (Blue Steel Records).

[CB]: Hi Anna. So what are your plans for Christmas and the Holiday week this year?

[Anna]: Home For The Holidays! I am headed south to my hometown of Troy, AL. I can not wait to send some time with my family and hometown friends. After Christmas, my mom and I are going to take a vacation to the beach in Seaside, FL and stay until New Years! We have been on the road so much this past year, so it will be nice to actually have some quality time with everyone.

[CB]: Do you and your family have a Christmas tradition that you follow every year?

[Anna]: We have what I believe is one of the greatest Christmas traditions. Every Christmas Eve since I was a child, we go to an amazing service at our church. The choir sings beautiful Christmas hymns, the preacher gives a message, and then everyone in the sanctuary lights a candle with the closing hymn. I always thought it was magical as a little girl , so its very nostalgic for me.

[CB]: What is your favorite Christmas or New Years Memory?

[Anna]: One Christmas when I was a little girl, my dad thought it would be a good idea to get on the roof with jingle bells and make lots of noise as if Santa had just landed at our house in the middle of the night. I remember lying in my bed with my eyes shut so tight because I was terrified Santa would know I was awake and leave! Needless to say, I couldn't sleep at all that night because I wanted to tell all my friends that I had actually HEARD Santa Clause myself and did in fact exist!

[CB]: Do you have any New Years Resolution for 2010?

[Anna]: Oh the dreaded New Years Resolution list! I keep a diary, and every year at New Year's I write ten resolutions for the year and why. Some of them remain the exact same such as "lose 10lbs", and some of them are hilariously off the wall. It's just funny to see how we can change in a year! My top three for 2010 are as follows:

1. Get my Master's degree
I graduated from Troy University in 2006 with a degree in Marketing. I have been wanted to continue my education by getting a master's degree, so no better time than the present, right? I know it will take more than a year, but I will hopefully at least start the program by taking some on-line classes in the Marketing/Public Relations program from TROY.

2. Take a Road Trip with my Best Friend
For years we have been talking about doing it, but whenever the time comes, it's either this or that reason why we cannot go. I plan to actually take that road trip in 2010!

3. Learn to Play the Blues Harp
Playing the blues harmonica is something I have been working on the past several months. Over the course of the next year, I would like to become really good at it. Not just playing fills, but I want be able to play some great leads. Watch out Jellyroll Johnson!

[CB]: Sounds like some great resolutions and holiday plans. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year!

[Anna]: Thanks Cindy.
