Corporate America may be tightening its belt in this tough economy that we all love to hate, but it hasn't prevented some interesting executive hirings and promotions in the music industry this month, including Country Radio Seminar, Sunset Island Music Management, Primary Wave Music, Secret Road Music Services, HFA, Georgia Music Association and Island Def Jam Motown.

Most recently, Country Radio Seminar hired Bradford Hollingsworth as one of two Directors of Brand Marketing and Strategic Partnerships, joining Michelle Tigard Kammerer in that capacity. Hollingsworth is a former account executive with the Nashville Predators, and held a similar marketing and sponsorship post with the Detroit Pistons. Hollingsworth will hit the ground running in preparation for CRS 2013, which will be held in downtown Nashville on February 27 – March 1, 2013.

Sunset Island Music named the legendary Ron Eckerman as its CEO. The announcement was made on August 27th by President Michael Della Donna. Eckerman's expertise is in artist management, and he worked with the southern rock band Lynard Skynard, helping to propel them to stardom. Eckerman was also instrumental in the success of Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner, 38 Special, and Peter Frampton.

Stephen Hutton, founder of Uppercut Management, will be joining the Talent Management Division of Primary Wave Music, as they continue their push in that area. Primary Wave Music recently opened a new office in the UK, headed by Clive Black, and brought in Electronic Dance Music expert Hosh Gurrell to lead the company in that genre, which is experiencing a huge surge in popularity. Hutton will concentrate on rock music, discovering and signing new and established talent. He will continue to maintain the roster of artists with whom he currently works.

Music executive Joshua Sarubin is the new head of A&R/Publishing for Secret Road Music Services, a leading music licensing, publishing, and management company. "Sarubin's A&R experience includes stints at Columbia, Arista and Island Def Jam. Most recently he served as Vice President of A&R at Sony ATV Music Publishing. Among the acts he has signed or worked with are Avril Lavigne, Pink, Santana, Presidents of the United States of America, Lionel Richie and Lady Gaga."

Lisa Robinson, who came to Harry Fox Agency from EMI Publishing in 2007, has been promoted to Director of Collections and Income Tracking. Robinson was previously a manager in Income Tracking. In her new role, she will lead the two departments, which have been merged, "to ensure the successful tracking and processing of all in-bound royalties and service fees."

After a 30 year career in Nashville, Tom Long returned to his hometown of Kennesaw, Georgia, where he has been elected as president of the Georgia Music Industry Association. Long co-founded the Atlanta Songwriter's association, which eventually became GMIA, in 1986.

At the beginning of the month, Ivan Gavin, COO of East Coast Labels, announced that Matt Voss had been promoted to Executive Vice President of International for Island Def Jam Motown and Universal Republic. Voss will be responsible for artists internationally with respect to marketing, publicity, and promotion. Some of the prestigious global artist campaigns he has worked on include Rihanna, Bon Jovi, Justin Bieber, Ne-Yo, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Of Monsters and Men, The Killers, Lil Wayne, and Jessie J.
