In honor of Keith Richards' 70th birthday, Rock Paper Photo — the carefully-curated online photography site with an extensive inventory of rare and iconic images—celebrates the man, the myth, the legend.

Rock Paper Photo has curated a selection of photographs by Andrew Maclear, Ron Pownall, Peter Simon and Andrew Kent. In these images, we see Keith Richards from 1969 through 1981. Though The Rolling Stone's "concept album" "Their Satanic Majesties Request" baffled audiences in 1967, they quickly recovered with a string of hit albums, starting with 1968's "Beggars Banquet" through 1981's "Tattoo You," that turned the Rolling Stones into one of the rock-'n'-rolls all-time most popular acts.

Retirement being for lesser men, Richards has shown little interest in slowing down. If anything, he's been busy branching out and exploring new mediums. In 2010 he released his hotly anticipated memoir Life, which sent shockwaves through his fan base (and no doubt ruffled a few feathers in his band) with revelations about his longtime love-hate relationship with Mick Jagger. The back cover of the bestseller featured Deborah Feingold's gorgeous portrait, available as an Archival Pigment print in a limited edition of 50 starting at $800.
On the advent of his seventh decade Richards seems more indestructible than ever. "It's just the way I am," he told Rolling Stone in 2002. "If you want to live a long life, join the Rolling Stones."
