Music Industry Veteran Launches The Chemists
Los Angeles Based Entertainment Company To Focus On Artist Development
Former Interscope Records executive, Garnett March, has launched The Chemists - a multi-faceted entertainment company. Founded in September of 2013, the company will focus on several areas of entertainment including artist development, management, publishing, culture marketing, and branding.
Named to pay homage to the intricacy music creation entails, The Chemists is designed to promote and mold up-and-coming artists. Inspired by Berry Gordy's Motown Records, the company operates under the core belief that artist development is key. Artists are even required to complete an intensive boot camp, concentrating on songwriting and recording.
March says, "After twenty years in the music industry, "boot camp" with Jimmy Iovine, and launching the careers of 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, Blackstreet, Master P, Westside Connection, Floetry, Mary J. Blige, Keyshia Cole, 50 Cent, and Kendrick Lamar, I feel I am well-equipped and ready to venture out on my own."
March launched The Chemists, quickly securing top industry professionals including General Manager, Michael Sherman, an industry veteran in management and branding for over fifteen years, Chief Marketing Officer, Carlos McCullers, a ten year marketing executive for Red Bull, Senior Vice-President of A&R, Grammy-winner, Makeba Riddick-Woods, a prolific songwriter with eleven #1's, and a three time Grammy nominee this year including for Best R&B Song "Love And War" Tamar Braxton, and Director of Publishing/Director of A&R, Tuff Morgan, a publishing veteran.
March leads by this quote, "I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear." – Nelson Mandela
The Los Angeles based entertainment hub is already home to a dynamic roster of artists, songwriters, and producers. In 2014 The Chemists will launch the careers of rapper Billy Bang, R&B singer Anthony Lewis and songstress Mila J. With his deeply rooted love and understanding of the music and industry, March's goal is to reignite the culture by bringing it back to its essence.
