The Hit House Expands Creative Team
Top music production company The Hit House has expanded its creative team with two new hires. Sally House, Executive Producer at The Hit House, made the announcement. The two men work closely with House and with Scott Miller, Creative Director, of The Hit House.
Noted Music Supervisor Danny Exum has been named The Hit House’s Director, Music Supervision and Business Development. Concurrently, Dan Diaz has become an in-house Composer for The Hit House.
"We love having all of these truly talented ‘D’s’ around here now," said Sally House. "Each of them brings a tremendous amount of creative expertise to our company. As our success grows, we have determined that bringing new and gifted team members in-house helps us deliver the best possible music, sound design, and music supervision to our broad range of clients. Danny and Dan join our very talented Hit House team."
Exum and Diaz join the existing Hit House creative team, which is comprised of three time Emmy Award nominated Sound Designer Chad Hughes, and highly-skilled composers Bill Conn and William Hunt.
SESAC Promotes Alison Rose to Associate Director, Business Affairs
SESAC has announced the promotion of Alison Rose to Associate Director, Business Affairs. In the new position, Rose will be responsible for the daily administration task of the Business Affairs department, as well as assist the Senior Director of Business Affairs.
"Alison has been a key part of SESAC's Business Affairs team for some time. Through the years, her responsibilities have expanded and she has continually stepped up to perform at an exemplary level. Her promotion is well-deserved," said Teresa Pitt-Sholar, SESAC's Senior Director of Operations, Business Affairs.
A graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., Rose joined SESAC four years ago following an internship at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. During her tenure at SESAC, she has worked in the Business Affairs department as a full-time administrator, reviewing and processing various agreements, processing statements and serving as a liaison for songwriter and publisher affiliate correspondence.
Chris Nilsson Named President Of 10th Street Entertainment
10th Street Entertainment is proud to announce the appointment of Chris Nilsson as President. Nilsson has been with 10th Street for 7 years and has been in the role of Chief Marketing Officer since 2009, making significant strides in the marketing of the innovative company's clients. He earned his MBA from USC's Marshall School of Business while working at the company. His appointment comes just in time for a banner year for 10th Street with the releases of new albums and tours from the majority of 10th Street's roster.

Zach Katz Promoted to Chief Creative Officer, BMG Chrysalis North America
Music rights management company BMG has announced the promotion of Zach Katz to Chief Creative Officer, BMG Chrysalis North America, based in Los Angeles.
Katz will continue to report directly to Laurent Hubert, President of Marketing & Creative, and oversee the LA and NY based creative staff.
Since joining the company in 2012, Katz has shaped and led the creative team that was responsible for numerous additions to the roster, garnering significant chart placements. Key highlights have been the signings of Claude Kelly, Greg Wells, the Strokes, Bebe Rexha, French Montana, Monsters & Strangers, Juicy J, Chris Braide, Jen Decilveo, Wolfgang Gartner, Xplicit, John Ryan and Howard Benson.
In his new role, Katz will continue to expand BMG's roster and maximize the opportunities for signed talent.
Prior to BMG, Katz co-founded record label Beluga Heights with his client/partner JR Rotem, worked closely with Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment and served as GM of Groove Attack USA. He began his career in 1996 as a music attorney.
The Audio Engineering Society Appoints Graham Kirk As International Sales Manager
As part of its newly focused business and marketing efforts, the Audio Engineering Society has appointed industry executive Graham Kirk to the position of International Sales Manager. The announcement was made by Bob Moses, AES Executive Director, and further underscores the AES's bolstered business development campaign, which began with the 135th AES Convention in New York, resulting in record attendance, this past fall. In his new position, Kirk will spearhead sales for AES exhibition partners and sponsors, as well as work closely with Moses and Steve Green, AES Business Development Manager.
Leveraging his experience in the music and professional audio industries, Kirk has previously managed sales and marketing efforts for Audio Media magazine and as the European Sales Director for the NewBay Media Group (Pro Sound News, Mix, System Contractor News and more). Further, Kirk will be at the upcoming Musikmesse 2014 International Music Fair (March 12 - 15) to meet with exhibitors and potential participants about partner and sponsorship opportunities at the upcoming 136th AES Convention in Berlin and the 137th Convention in Los Angeles.
ASCAP Promotes Jon Bahr To Senior Director, Marketing & Communications
ASCAP Senior Vice President, Marketing & Communications Lauren Iossa announced the promotion of Jon Bahr to Senior Director, Marketing & Communications. Based in ASCAP's New York office, Bahr joined ASCAP in 2003 and previously held the title of Director, Marketing.
Commenting on Bahr's promotion, Iossa said: "Jon has proven that he is a true leader in guiding ASCAP's marketing, event and advertising direction. He was instrumental in driving the success of our 100th birthday marketing, including our 100 Years, 100 Days campaign and the commissioned film, Why We Create Music, which is the centerpiece of the campaign. In his new role, Bahr will continue as a key producer of the ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO - which he helped launch over nine years ago - and has taken on increased oversight of the event's programming and marketing. In addition, having taken over ASCAP's advertising efforts in 2012, Bahr will continue to optimize ASCAP's media buying capabilities and broaden the scope of outlets.
Record Plant Recording Studios Names Jeff Barnes Studio Manager
The Record Plant Recording Studios is pleased to announce that Jeff Barnes has been named to the position of Studio Manager. The announcement was made by Rose Mann-Cherney, Record Plant Recording Studios President, and further emphasizes the company’s ongoing growth and expansion of its staff.
In his new position, Jeff Barnes will work closely with Rose Mann-Cherney and Vice President/General Manager Jason Carson, and manage the day-to-day studio operations including studio bookings, scheduling of engineers, overseeing of technical operations/equipment, and project budgets, while interfacing with producers, recording artists and artist managers.
"Over the years, Jeff has become part of our Record Plant extended family. His work ethic is second to none, and I am extremely proud to have him on our team," stated Rose Mann-Cherney. "Having started with us six years ago, Jeff has grown to become a tremendous asset to our organization, and I look forward to working with him in his new position of Studio Manager."
A classically trained multi-instrumentalist, Jeff Barnes began his career studying film scoring at USC in 2003. He then attended the Los Angeles Recording School, graduating in April 2008. He started at the Record Plant Recording Studios in May of 2008 as a "runner," rising rapidly over the years within the organization to become Studio Manager.
