The Red Bull Music Academy is a two week session where select artists from around the world come together to participate in recording sessions, listen to guest lecturers and watch a variety musical performances. Held annually in a different location, the upcoming Fall 2015 Academy will be held in Paris.

In order to promote applicants to the 2015 Red Bull Music Academy, Austrian International Red Bull is coordinating a five city tour in China. The tour features artists Yosi Horikawa, Daisuke Tanabe and Cha Cha, who are all alumni of the academy. Each stop on the tour will include an informational session with discussion on the academy and artists personal experiences as well as club night performances by the artists along with Shanghai's Lost Cargo Crew and other local acts.

Apart from the artists speaking at the informational session, there will also be a "Layered Memories" film screening. This Red Bull Music Academy film follows Yosi Horikoawa, one of the three artists on the tour, as he travels to the island of Yakushima where he records some of his best music. To accommodate the audience, there will be Chinese subtitles included in the film. The trailer can be seen here.

Now let's talk more about the three artists headlining the China tour. First, we have Cha Cha, who is an alumni of the academy from Madrid in 2011. She has since collaborated with international artists such as Space Ape, Kode 9, and M. Also known as Faded Ghost she is a well recognized musician in the Shanghai underground, and has developed a production style that is always likely to stand out. Next there is Daisuke Tanabe, an alumni from London in 2010, who is renowned for creating "extraordinary atmospheres with his music." Before breaking through with his music, he was an art student living and working in London. Lastly, we have Yosi Horikawa who is a sound designer and an alumni also from Madrid in 2011. Referred to as "a man of miniatures" Horikawa uses sounds such as table tennis balls and shakers, and turns them into something musical.
