"Those who know have heard the development of the Chengijisihan song over the last five years," said Tim. "I am proud to continue the tradition of this song and the legend of Chengjisihan. This has been a true journey of art and spirit!"
In 1979, Dschingis Khan, a German disco group, released the song with music by Ralph Siegal and produced and lyrics by Bernd Meinunger. The following year, Cantonese pop singer George Lam recorded the popular Chinese version for his album. Since then, the song has gained rebirths through various Mongolian, Chinese, and Asian pop artists. Abominati's rock metal version is the first release of the song in over 10 years.
The Chengjisihan song production combined artists from Los Angeles and Beijing. Contributing local artists were Mr. Lies (lead vocals), Zhao Li Zhi (lead guitar), and Hou Wei (synthesizer). ProStudios of LA provided drums, bass, and rhythm guitar. Lies arranged the song and produced with Hou Wei. For Marduk the Abomination, Lies contributed lead vocals and lyrics. All local recording was at Hou Wei's Mort Studios.
For the last 10 years, Lies has been the chameleon of Beijing rock. Both rock artist and filmmaker, he has played the local and national clubs as Lucifer Jones and Dr. 666 with his bands Chaoziran and Abominati performing his over 200 shows in China. Look for the Rock Wizard to resurrect again for the spring equinox! Also, he produces avant-garde music videos and plans to soon rerelease his controversial underground rock movie-New Rock Revolution!-which tells the story of the raw and real Beijing rock scene before the post-post BS. In addition, Lies has written a Chinese romantic comedy screenplay-Fengzi Meng-which has been submitted to the Beijing Film Festival market.
