Deadline Upcoming: USArtists International 2016-2017
USArtists International provides grants to ensembles and individual performers in music invited to perform at significant international festivals
As someone who tours musicians and bands in China, I've always been a little frustrated by the lack from support from the US government for developing independent artists abroad. This year alone, we've toured in China French jazz singer Clotilde, Montreal DJ duo Eagle I Stallian and Toronto indie folk-jazz trio The Jessica Stuart Few with the aid of grants. So I was pleased to read about USArtists International, which supports performances by American artists at important cultural festivals and arts marketplaces around the globe. Committed to the presence of U.S. based artists on world stages, USArtists International provides grants to ensembles and individual performers in dance, music and theatre invited to perform at significant international festivals.
USAI encourages and promotes the vibrant diversity of American artists and creative expression in the performing arts by expanding opportunity and exposure to international audiences, encouraging international cultural exchange and enhancing the creative and professional development of US based artists by providing connections with presenters, curators and artists around the world. USAI extends the reach and impact of professional touring artists and ensembles from the United States and is committed to expanded touring opportunities for continued sustainability of US artists.
USAI provides grants of up to $15,000 towards support of artist fees, travel, accommodations, per diem, shipping and visa preparation.
The application deadlines for USArtists International (USAI) 2017 grant rounds are:
* CLOSED: September 7, 2016 for projects taking place between December 15, 2016 and December 14, 2017. Certification Sheets due by September 14, 2016.
