Beverly Paterson, The Lance Monthly
Archive of Articles

Beverly Paterson is a staff writer for The Lance Monthly, The Internet Source for '50s Rockabilly, '60s Garage Band Music, and Surf and Modern Guitar Instrumentals.

San Mateo, California resident Beverly Paterson was born in Palo Alto, California the day Ben E. King's "Stand By Me" hit number four on the national charts, which is ironically, one of her favorite songs--especially the version by John Lennon! Beverly began listening to music on a serious basis as a youngster growing up in New Mexico (another coincidence), although at the time, she was not aware of the Lance-related garage bands. It was during those years she began collecting records, but it wasn't until the early eighties she discovered obscure sixties garage and psychedelic rock via compilations like Pebbles and Highs In The Mid-Sixties.

A few years later, Beverly began writing for fanzines such as "Blitz" and "Pow." She eventually embarked on a self-publishing route, which produced "Voices Green and Purple," "Inside Out," "Up," In Tune" and "Pop Sunday."

Beverly currently publishes a fanzine titled "Twist And Shake," is the associate editor of "Rock Beat International," and submits a regular column, "Classics Revisited" to "Amplifier" magazine.

In Beverly's monthly column on The Lance Monntly, "Jump, Jive and Harmonize," she raves about all kinds of groovy sounds from yesterday that deserve to live on forever and forever!

RvStewartProductions is the home of Lance Records, The Lance Monthly, and Cool Links Publishing. Although our focus is on rock ‘n’ roll music of the ‘50s, ‘60s, and early ‘70s, performed by groups from those decades, we also like to bring attention to the modern bands that are inspired by the early roots of rock ‘n’ roll. Furthermore, we retail albums by these artists, and those that The Lance Monthly recommends as “must have” are featured on this home page.

The Lance Monthly is now in its seventh year of publication and going strong. This free read is very informative with detailed, candid interviews and album reviews by both regionally and internationally known artists.

In addition, we license music for just about every mood via Lance Records and Cool Links Publishing (BMI).
