J.P. Bommel Joins Reed MIDEM As VP Of Sales & Business Development
J.P. Bommel has joined Reed MIDEM as vice president of Sales & Business Development for Midem Music Market - North America. Bommel has been a sales agent for Reed MIDEM in the US for the past year. He brings a solid experience in the music industry (vice president - International Marketing for three years at Sony NY, vice president - Global Marketing for four years at BMG Entertainment in LA) as well as in the new technologies business (founder and president of Media & New Technologies Consulting Services in 2000, director business development for two years at Qwest Communications, NY).
JP Bommel defines today’s entertainment executive: a strategic marketing expert with real-world business acumen who transitions smoothly across global and corporate cultures, all the while realizing the promise of emerging distribution platforms. He has merged his extensive expertise in marketing and new media to deliver lucrative campaigns for EMI Records, Sony Music Entertainment, BMG Entertainment, and Qwest Communications. He is the chairman of the Media/Entertainment and Technology Group for MENG, a national organization of marketing executives.
As a consultant for the past four years, Bommel has designed, branded and brought to market information security solutions and digital content distribution methods customized for the media and entertainment industries, including projects for HBO, Time Inc, Reed MIDEM, Bertelsmann and The Actors’ Equity Association.
With over 15 years of experience in the entertainment and technology businesses, Bommel has a proven track record for taking a vision and successfully implementing it across corporate, cultural, and consumer divides. His work has boosted the careers of entertainment icons such as Tina Turner, Billy Joel, and Yanni, to name a few.
