Andrew Jenkins Promoted To President, BMG Music Publishing Interntaional
Nicholas Firth, chairman and CEO of BMG Music Publishing Worldwide, has announced the promotion of Andrew Jenkins to president, BMG Music Publishing International. He was previously executive vice president.
In his new role, London-based Jenkins will have Profit and Loss responsibility for BMG Music Publishing's worldwide operations excluding North America. He will also be responsible for the company's Global Marketing division.
Jenkins continues to oversee BMG Music Publishing International, the London-based office responsible for signing catalogues and songwriters to international subpublishing deals. The company is currently on the global charts with the number one European hit, "Axel F" (Mac One/Gusto Records) from Crazy Frog as well as hits from Akon, Gwen Stefani, John Legend, Il Divo, Kelly Clarkson, Bodyrockers and Iron Maiden.
Jenkins joined BMG Music Publishing International in 1993 as vice president and was most recently executive vice president. He has signed major international subpublishing agreements including Alanis Morissette, Mosaic, Pete Townshend/The Who, The Cure, Robert Plant, Leiber & Stoller, and Tom Waits. Prior to joining BMG, Jenkins was general manager of Polydor Records in the U.K., where he worked with BMG-published artists the Bee Gees and the Cure.
