Concord Music Group Hires Joel Amsterdam As VP, Publicity
Concord Music Group announced that it has hired Joel Amsterdam as vice president, Publicity. He will oversee all the publicity efforts for the company's group of label's, including Concord Records, Concord Picante, Fantasy Records, Prestige Records, Stax/Volt, Riverside, and Peak Records. Amsterdam reports directly to Concord Music Group Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing Robert Smith.
Prior to joining Concord, Amsterdam was vice president, Press and Artist Development for Elektra, a position he held for eight years, leading press campaigns for some of popular music's most successful artists, including Metallica, Björk, Jason Mraz, Emmylou Harris, and Natalie Merchant to name a few. Most recently, he acted as consultant for iN DEMAND, the cable television consortium owned by Time Warner, Comcast, and Cox Communications. Amsterdam helped acquire music programming for iN DEMAND's high definition TV channels INHD and INHD2.
