MusicDish Network Brings Speed Networking To New York's Music Industry
New York's music industry will be gathering for the city's first Music Industry Speed Networking event to be held on November 29th at Gonzalez y Gonzalez. The event borrows from the popular 'speed dating' concept to provide music industry players with an opportunity to quickly and comfortably meet and talk in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
The speed networking event is hosted by MusicDish Network, an artist marketing and development site, and music production company Human Factor, in partnership with the National Association of Recording Industry Professionals (NARIP) whose members will be able to participate for free. The event will broaden participants' NY industry connections by meeting 10 times the number of contacts in the time it would usually take to meet one, and receive practical suggestions to advance your career.
Learn unique networking techniques and put them to use. Express your own opinions as well as hear from others in the industry. No matter what your role or length of experience, everyone from artists, lawyers, record labels, managers, etc, will benefit from the combined experience in the room. By the end of the session, you'll have met everyone in the room, and will have learned what they can or can't do for you.
Set in NY's premier Latin music club, Gonzalez y Gonzalez, conveniently located at 625 Broadway between Houston and Bleeker Street, the networking event will be capped by Kobo Town's inaugural performance in the Big Apple. Kobo Town 's music reflects today's Caribbean-Canadian diaspora, melding traditional Trinidadian music and new sounds encountered in Canada , including funk, jazz, Haitian kompa, Cuban descarga, and Congolese soukous. As a global capital of dub poetry, Toronto is the perfect setting for a band that owes a heavy debt to Canada's dub poets, particularly Clifton Joseph and Anthony Bansfield.
