Sony Nashville Announces Changes In Marketing Department

Sony Music Nashville President John Grady is pleased to announce promotions and a new hire in the marketing department.

Deb Haus joined Sony Music Entertainment 18 years ago and has spent the last three years as vice president of marketing and artist development, while overseeing the music video, international and creative services departments, as well. Now she officially adds the latter to her title, becoming vice president, marketing, artist development and creative services. She manages seven employees and reports directly to John Grady.

The Texas native began her career with the company when she was hired as a college representative while attending the University of Texas-Austin. From that position, Haus was then promoted to account service representative for the Southwest Branch of Sony Music Distribution. In 1994, Haus transferred to the Sony New York headquarters where she served as manager, point of purchase, for Sony Music Distribution. Three years later, Haus relocated to Nashville, accepting the position of associate director of marketing. In 1999, she was promoted to director of artist development and in 2001 became vice president of artist development.

Tanya Welch has been promoted to director of marketing. Formally associate director of marketing, Welch started with Sony Nashville in 1996 as the marketing coordinator and worked her way through the ranks. She now leads the marketing efforts for Jace Everett, Shelly Fairchild, Buddy Jewell, Jon Randall, Van Zant and Gretchen Wilson.

Alicia Harvey was hired in October as associate director of marketing. A Belmont graduate with a music business degree, Harvey went to work at Mike Robertson Management as his assistant. She spent over three years in management, working with artists such as Patty Loveless, Ryan Shupe & the RubberBand, Jimmy Wayne and Carolina Rain. Harvey will work with Columbia Records' newcomer Brice Long and will be assigned other artists.

Kim Markovchick continues in the department as senior director of marketing, working with Susan Haynes, Miranda Lambert, Patty Loveless, Ashley Monroe, Montgomery Gentry, and Trent Willmon. Laura McKinley works as marketing coordinator.

The creative services department consists of Tracy Fleaner as senior art director and Megan Willoughby as junior art director. Crystal Hogg works as manager of creative services.
