Vital Distribution Clinches Victory
Victory Records has entered into a new, exclusive distribution agreement for the UK and Ireland with Vital Distribution effective February 1, 2006. Victory has previously been working with PHD in the UK since 1996.
"Victory is one of the hottest independent labels in the world," says Vital MD Peter Thompson. "It represents all that is good and strong about independence. It is also a lifestyle and a family and Vital is now proud to be part of that family. We are committed to taking the enormous success that Victory has achieved within North America and reproducing the same sort of results within the UK. This is a great coup for Vital and a challenge that myself and everyone at Vital is really looking forward to." Vital distributes successful UK labels XL (White Stripes, Prodigy), Domino (Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys), Big Brother (Oasis), amongst others and US labels Saddlecreek and Matador.
"Vital continually demonstrates its prowess in the British marketplace via the habitual chart presence of its distributed titles," says Victory's Tony Brummel. "They are a fiercely independent and successful organization that can effectively distribute records of all sizes. With Victory's ever increasing profile in the territory and the expansion of our London office this was a natural alliance. Peter has assembled a first-class team and we look forward to delivering them first-class releases."
In January, Victory's Hawthorne Heights and Aiden are featured on the Kerrang! XXV Tour playing 2-5000 capacity, sold-out venues. With Honor and The Junior Varsity will also tour the UK that month. The Vital relationship kicks off with the release of new albums from Hawthorne Heights, Action Action and Germany's Waterdown.
