Brad Aarons Named Creative Director, BMG Songs
Monti Olson, vice president, A&R, has appointed Brad Aarons to creative director at BMG Songs effective immediately. Reporting directly to Olson, Aarons is based in the company’s Los Angeles headquarters.
As creative director, Aarons will be responsible for signing new songwriters to BMG Songs as well as working with the music publisher’s current staff songwriters. In addition, he will be charged with songplugging and catalogue exploitation.
A leading music publisher, BMG Songs is home to superstars Nelly, Christina Aguilera, Maroon5, The All-American Rejects, Yellowcard and Chad Hugo (The Neptunes) as well as hot writer/producers Manuel Seal (Best R&B Song Grammy winner for Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together”) and The Matrix (Shakira, Korn).
Aarons comes to BMG Songs after a successful management and record label career. Prior to operating his own artist management firm, which he founded in 2004, Aarons spent five years at Sony Music International and its Epic Records label. He was most recently A&R manager of Epic/Sony Music International, where he worked closely with Sony’s global affiliates and helped break international artists in the U.S. Throughout his career, Aarons has worked with artists like Good Charlotte, Anastacia, Delta Goodrem and Lost Prophets.
