Virgin Entertainment Group North America Appoints New Marketing Directors
Virgin Entertainment Group, North America, the world's premiere entertainment retailer, announced that Dee Mc Laughlin has been promoted to Virgin's director of brand marketing and Wayne Scholes will be joining the Virgin team as director of strategic marketing. Both Mc Laughlin and Scholes will take over the positions immediately. In their new positions, both of them will report to Dave Alder, chief marketing officer, Virgin Entertainment Group, North America.
Mc Laughlin has held several key executive management positions over the past seven years at Virgin Entertainment Group. Prior to her promotion, Mc Laughlin was senior manager, Creative & Content, for Virgin. In her new role, Mc Laughlin will be responsible for all of the brands communications offline and online, including; all of the marketing and PR initiatives for the Virgin Megastores and Virgin Entertainment Group. She will also continue to manage the creative and production team and will assume responsibility for Virgin's product marketing group.
Wayne Scholes joins the Virgin team with over 16 years of international strategic sales and marketing experience. Over the past few years Scholes has helped build several successful strategic partnerships and has contributed to a number of Virgin marketing initiatives. Under his new position, Scholes will be responsible for strategic partnerships, regional marketing support, traffic driving initiatives, event management, and the development of new marketing revenue streams. Scholes will manage the field marketing and partnership team.
Both Mc Laughlin and Scholes will use their expertise to help guide Virgin's marketing teams, as the brand has recently revised its strategic direction to include an expanded selection of entertainment and fashion products. Both executives will focus on bringing the best strategic partners in to work with the Virgin brand, as the company shifts from a traditional music retailer to a one-stop entertainment shopping experience that now offers the latest in pop culture fashion and apparel, portable electronics, DVDs and games.
