ASCAP Promotes Lauren Iossa To Senior Vice President Of Marketing

Phil Crosland, ASCAP EVP and head of its new Marketing Business Group, announced that ASCAP has promoted Lauren Iossa to senior vice president of marketing. Based in New York, Iossa previously served as vice president of marketing. In her expanded role, Iossa will directly assist in establishing early success for the Marketing Business Group. She will specifically focus on building upon the impact of all of ASCAP's events, including its hugely successful "I Create Music" EXPO, adding further impact and value to ASCAP's industry leading web site and providing new and innovative benefits to ASCAP's more than 250,000 members.

Iossa is a twenty-two year veteran of ASCAP having served in Public Relations, Public Affairs and Membership prior to teaming up with Crosland in 1997 when he joined ASCAP to build a Marketing Department. Before joining ASCAP, Iossa was with a jazz management agency, built a not-for-profit music program for troubled teens, and gained invaluable experience and contacts at Meet the Composer.

"Lauren is a unique talent and a source of great competitive advantage for ASCAP," said Crosland. "She has the wonderful ability to connect with and support a struggling composer on the one hand, and produce a successful ASCAP EXPO for over 1,800 music creators on the other. This recognition is well deserved and reflects our belief that Lauren will take the lead in exceeding the expectations for our new Business Group, just as she has with every previous assignment."

Iossa, who majored in Philosophy at Williams College in Western Massachusetts, is the daughter of a musician. She began playing piano at the age of seven, and throughout high school took lessons and theory classes at the New England Conservatory. She also played trumpet and string bass, which provided many opportunities to play in some of the best youth symphony orchestras.
