Chamber Music America's Residency Partnership Program to Support Live Ensemble Music
Deadline: December 8, 2006
Chamber Music America's (www.chamber-music.org) Residency Partnership Program enables ensembles and presenters to bring live ensemble music to rural, urban, and suburban communities across the United States.
Dynamic collaborations and non-traditional partnerships among ensembles/presenters and community-based organizations are encouraged. Residency projects may include workshops, coaching sessions, lecture/demonstrations, and/or concerts that are not part of a regular series. The length of the collaborative project may range from a minimum of three days to a maximum of one year. New this year is a multi-year residency option for ensembles and presenters with prior residency experience.
National Projects include grants of $2,500 to $6,000 each for short-term residency projects (a minimum of three days, with a minimum of three residency activities); grants of $5,000 to $12,000 each for extended residency projects (up to one year, with a minimum of ten activities); and grants of up to $15,000 each per residency year for multi-year residency projects (up to three years, with a minimum of twelve activities annually).
New York Metropolitan Area Funding Opportunities include grants of $2,500 to $6,000 each for short-term residency projects; and grants of $5,000 to $12,000 each for extended residency projects. Support through the JPMorgan Chase Residency Re-Grant Program is available for residency projects taking place in New York State, northern New Jersey, and southeastern Connecticut. Organizations with budgets under $300,000 will be given priority consideration.
The Guarneri String Quartet Residency is an annual residency grant specifically designed for string quartets. A recipient will be selected each year from string quartet applicants to CMA's Residency Partnership Program.
