MidemNet 2007 To Feature Global Digital and Mobile Industries
'Power To The Consumer' Conference Theme
Each January, the global music industry’s key players meet in Cannes to do deals, network, learn about the sector’s future, and check out hot new talent. Today, MIDEM attracts nearly 10,000 delegates from almost 100 countries, from the recording, publishing, live, sync, digital and mobile sectors. It is as such the source of profitable new music business. Beyond its showfloor, MIDEM also offers high-level conferences, cutting-edge concerts and events, and numerous business services…
The 2-day MidemNet Forum takes place just before MIDEM on 20 and 21 January 2007. This international conference program covers the opportunities offered by the digital and mobile industries. Last year the sell-out Forum comprised of 21 high level conferences and keynotes, 68 international experts, 1,206 participants and extensive networking sessions.
The theme for MidemNet Forum 2007 is “Power to the Consumer.” Faced with blogs, social networking platforms and user-generated content, the music industry now has the ability to partner with consumers in order to produce and distribute music. How can it make the most of such a powerful ally?
New economic models are also emerging: are niche markets (long tail) and ad-supported content as promising as they seem to be? Among other topics, the MidemNet Forum will also focus on the exploding Asian Market.
The MidemNet Forum isn’t just about packed-house conferences; it also offers rare chances to spend quality time with industry leaders. The Mentoring Sessions, where delegates can book short appointments with key MidemNet speakers, will be back in January, including a special focus on Asia.
The next MidemNet Forum’s latest confirmed headline speakers are not to be sniffed at:
