Sony DADC Provides Global Digital Distribution Services To EMI Music
Sony DADC provides global distribution for EMI Music's digital music catalogue.
EMI is the second major music label signing with Sony DADC for digital distribution, conversion and storage services. The contract places Sony DADC as the distributor of EMI Music's entire music catalogue to Digital Service Providers (DSP) worldwide. EMI's digital music titles, comprising of both albums and singles, are converted, stored and delivered to DSPs by Sony DADC. Every week new EMI titles are released, which are incorporated in the system and delivered to their global Digital and Mobile Service providers.
An existing and proven infrastructure for digital services at Sony DADC ensured a smooth transition, enabling a seamless ingestion of EMI's digital assets. "We were looking for a stable solution that could be adapted to our requirements based on a reliable, functioning infrastructure. "Our current conversion and distribution capacity for audio files is over 800 thousand per week. We store over 2 million music files, 100,000 graphics, and several thousand video assets in our continuously growing digital archive." Sony DADC's broad experience in digital services derives from longstanding relationships with the music, video and software industries.
