Tegan Kossowicz Appointed Senior Director, Business & Legal Affairs, Universal Music Group
Universal Music Group (UMG), the world's leading music company, announced that Tegan Kossowicz has been named senior director, business & legal affairs for UMG's Royalties and Copyright division. Based in Universal City, Ms. Kossowicz will report to Cindy Oliver, senior vice president, Royalties & Copyright, UMG, with additional reporting duties to Neil Nagano, senior vice president, Business & Legal Affairs, UMG.
In her new role, Ms. Kossowicz will be responsible for facilitating music rights clearances for mobile and audiovisual exploitation of UMG masters. She will interact with UMG label business affairs divisions and their respective licensing personnel to expedite all aspects of the clearance process. Additionally, she will help maintain UMG legal standards and policies with respect to the royalties and copyright division.
"UMG is committed to streamlining the music rights licensing processes for our various divisions and strengthening our relationships with music publishers," stated Ms. Oliver. "Tegan's depth of knowledge and twelve year background in publishing makes her an excellent fit for this key role."
Most recently, Ms. Kossowicz was senior director of business & legal affairs at Famous Music Publishing where her many responsibilities included negotiating new digital media agreements with record labels, settling infringement claims, and supervising publishing catalog administration issues for numerous songwriters and production entities.
Ms. Kossowicz received a BA from Smith College and a JD from Southwestern University.
