The Fader Names Chris Richards New Executive Editor
The FADER, the definitive voice of emerging music, has announced that Chris Richards has been named executive editor. FADER publisher Andy Cohn made the announcement.
Richards' arrival at The FADER comes after a six-year run at the Washington Post where he covered music, arts and culture for the Style and Sunday Source sections. In addition, Richards is an acclaimed musician. His former band, Q and Not U, recorded three highly praised albums for legendary punk label Dischord Records, and performed nearly 1,000 shows worldwide.
"After meeting with Chris we knew he was the perfect person for the position," says Cohn. "His incredible background combined with his passion for music blew me away and I'm really excited to be working with him as we continue to grow The FADER and explore new terrain for the brand."
"I feel like The FADER has just hired its biggest fan," says Richards. "The FADER has been turning me on to new sounds for years and I'm thrilled to be joining a team of journalists as enthusiastic about the future of music as I am."
Richards holds a B.A. in Fine Arts from George Washington University.
