Swedish Music Information Centre Appoints Stina Westerberg As New CEO
Stina Westerberg is a public relations manager specialising in market communication, before which she was a flautist in numerous symphony orchestras for 20 years. She was most recently employed at the Vadstena Academy, where she was appointed CEO in December 2003.
During her time at the Vadstena Academy, Stina contributed significantly to the development of both the organisation and its information activities. She also elevated the profile of the academy and initiated enriching collaborations with other music institutions. These are experiences from which she is sure she will benefit at the Swedish Music Information Centre.
"It's really important to launch Swedish composers and their music, both at home and abroad. For years, the Swedish Music Information Centre's departing CEO, Roland Sandberg, has been working on an international level, and I intend to follow suit. There's also reason to look into how we can further develop the way we handle the important archives that the Swedish Music Information Centre manages, and how we can secure the place of newly written Swedish music in the repertoires of orchestras and ensembles."
