Santiago Schuster Named Regional Affairs Director Of International Organisation For Authors' And Composers' Rights
The International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) has elected lawyer Santiago Schuster as the organisation's new Regional Affairs Director for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Until January, Schuster was Director General of SCD, the musical rights society in Chile. Santiago Schuster is internationally recognised as an expert on intellectual property and the rights of creators in Latin America. Mr. Schuster has made a decisive contribution to the strengthening of collective management in Chile after having directed the society for musical rights management there for more than 20 years, and having contributed to the establishment of management societies for all forms of artistic expression in his country, deemed a model in the region.
"Whether as SCD Director or as consultant for international organizations such as WIPO, or as professor at the University of Chile," stated CISAC Director General Eric Baptiste, "Santiago Schuster has made a decisive contribution to the advancement of authors' rights in Latin America. I am pleased that Schuster has joined CISAC, where he will play an essential role in the transition to the digital management of intellectual rights in the region, and will contribute to the training of new generations of leaders, lawyers, and specialists in authors' rights and collective management in the region, among many other tasks."
Richard Llewellyn Tapped As Sales Director For NOTION Music
NOTION Music announced that Richard Llewellyn has joined the music notation software company as their Sales Director in the United Kingdom. With over 20 years experience in the music industry, Richard started his career in music publishing working for Boosey & Hawkes Music Publishers and IMP. He then moved to Yamaha instruments where he was a Regional Manager in the Acoustic division. Following 5 years at Yamaha, he was named International Sales Manager for MakeMusic Inc., directing the international sales efforts for their music notation software programs.
Richard comments "This is a really exciting time for music software, especially with the success of Guitar Hero, Rock Band and the newly announced Disney 'Star' guitarist series. NOTION music gives everyone the opportunity, inspiration and creative tools to help make your own music whatever level you are at and in any style. The NOTION family of intuitive software programs are easy to use and offer a great opportunity of increased sales with very good profit margins. Every guitarist could be getting creative using PROGRESSION and I would encourage all students learning music to invest in a copy of PROTÉGÉ - it's inexpensive and a lot quicker than writing things down on a piece of manuscript paper. Plus you get the included sounds of the London Symphony Orchestra playing your composition back to you. Now that can't be bad!"

"We're delighted that John has joined the team. He brings an extraordinary track record of rapidly growing revenue in media properties at our stage," said CEO Kennedy.
