Velocity Records Forms And Starts Imprint With Rise
Dave Shapiro (Booking Agent at The Agency Group, Los Angeles) and Portland, Oregon's Rise Records are pleased to announce their recent partnership to create a new imprint in the Rise Records family- Velocity Records. Dave Shapiro will own and run the new label with the help of the Rise team, and will be working directly with Rise on all upcoming and future projects. This exciting new partnership will further develop the successful working relationship that Shapiro and Rise already have together, which can most notably be seen in the current popularity of metalcore buzz band The Devil Wears Prada, who they have worked with together since late 2006. This is only the beginning of what can be expected to result from this pairing. Velocity Records will be making its first official announcement very soon so please keep both Velocity and Rise on your radar, as there will be much more to come.
Two Ton Anvil Signs With Dark Star Records
One of Chicago's premiere thrash/speed metal bands, Two Ton Anvil, has signed with Dark Star Records. Not only has Two Ton Anvil been making a name for themselves in the local Chicago music scene but they have also shared the stage with national acts such as: Five Finger Death Punch, Bury your Dead, In this Moment, Another Black Day to name a few.
Two Ton Anvil is Chris Chubb (Guitars and Vocals), Brian Ericson (Guitars and Vocals), Glenn Christon (Bass) and Larry Demumbrum (Drums). With dual vocals and guitars led by Chubb and Ericson this is the heaviest and most marketable music they have created to date. While combining several metal genre's with mid-tempo heavy groove with fast thrash/speed metal their songs will keep you coming back for more!
Hamptons Entertainment Signs EVRO to True Sound Management
Hamptons Entertainment announced the signing of Philly's hottest Rock band EVRO! The group has signed on to the talent agency's True Sound Management roster.
Along with gaining personal management to guide their career, the band will also receive promotion, marketing, publicity and booking services through it's sister label, Paradise Publicity. EVRO's new single "Not Yet" will be released to U.S. radio in February and followed by the band's sophmore album, scheduled to be released later in the year.
Self-described as, "In your face rock with an incredible female vocalist." Evro is an alternative rock band from the Philadelphia area that strives to have a strong unique sound. The four member band creates catchy hooks and has amazing energy to captivate all types of audiences. Although a new and emerging band, Evro is diligently working in the Philly music scene.
Round Cat Records Signs New Talent
Round Cat Records the New England Indie Label has signed two of New Hampshires best bands. The Ron Noyes band who have worked with John Popper of Blues Traveler and Los Lonely Boy's signed with RCR in November and began recording at studio 114 in Beford NH. They are expecting a June release of thier yet untitled CD.
Brooks Young who has Supported BB King, James Montgomery and J Giels, also signed with RCR and is putting the finishing touches on Their New CD called counting Down. Counting Down will be released in mid April.
Both bands will be touring extensivley to promote their new CD's. Look for more up dates to follow.
Sire Records Founders Launch Blue Horizon Label
The founders of legendary Sire Records, Richard Gottehrer and Seymour Stein, announced the relaunch of legendary record label Blue Horizon, a venture that aims to introduce the world to emerging artists across a wide spectrum of genres. Gottehrer, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of The Orchard, and Stein, CEO of Sire Records and VP of Warner Bros. Blue Horizon will leverage the global reach and innovative marketing of The Orchard (Gottehrer's company), while upstreaming select releases to Warner Bros. Records (Stein's company). Blue Horizon will be run from The Orchard's offices and be home to modern day versions of Madonna, The Ramones, Talking Heads (all artists previously signed to Sire Records), etc.
Latino Pop Superstar Pascal G. Signs Major Deal With Sunset
Sunset's Pascal G. will record a full length CD with award winning producer (Jack White) as well as releasing a very special song for the UNICEF Organization.
Latino pop singer Pascal G. is the newest world music superstar to sign a recording deal, record a full length CD with the award winning producer Jack White (Barry Manilow, Laura Branigan, Al Martino, David Hasselhoff, Paul Anka, Pia Zadora, Jermaine Jackson, more) and that shows his philanthropic ways by giving away all proceeds for the download of his first single to the UNICEF Organization.
The pop star announced a deal that will cover his recordings, distribution, production, sponsorship, merchandising and the release of a five (5) songs EP with the proceeds of all sales for the UNICEF song going direct to the UNICEF Organizations.
The value of the multi album deal was not disclosed in the press release today; the label however, plans to release an EP so it can provide revenues from the sale of downloads, ringtones and streams, to UNICEF. Also included on the upcoming release is the hit song, "Tale Of Lola," one version is in English, and there is another version in Spanish on the upcoming CD.
