Music Industry Veteran Anastasia Brown To Join Format Entertainment
Anastasia Brown is one of the top power-players in the music industry and is proud to announce her newest endeavor; joining LA & NYC based Format Entertainment, a vibrant music company specializing in music supervision (Iron Man 1 & 2, Sex and the City 1 &2, The Blindside, Alvin and The Chipmunks 1 & 2, and Swingers), music production and soundtracks for film.
Brown will head up a Nashville branch of the company, act as a music supervisor as well as tapping into the enormous amount of musical talent residing in Nashville and the surrounding areas. Having already developed offices in Los Angeles and New York, Format looks forward to the Nashville expansion.
Brown brings with her a vast amount of music and film industry knowledge. Currently the go-to music supervisor based in Nashville, her film credits includeAugust Rush, Road to Nowhere, It's Complicated, Billy: The Early Years, Daltry Calhoun, the upcoming Paramount re-make of Footloose. She also music supervised the Emmy Award Winner mini-series, Steven Spielberg executive produced, Takenand acts as a film consultant for projects pertaining to Heartland lifestyle and music.
SOCAN Announces Changes To Its Executive Management Team
SOCAN announced the appointment of Jeff King as Chief Operating Officer, effective January 1, 2011, Janice Scott as Vice President, Information Technology, effective November 1, 2010, Betsy Chaly as Director, Marketing Communications, effective November 8, 2010, and Jennifer Brown, Vice President, Licensing, effective January 1, 2011. Additionally, they announced the retirement of Marian Wilson, Vice President Information Technology, and the departure of Joel Grad, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, effective December 31, 2010.
Reporting directly to SOCAN CEO Eric Baptiste will be the new COO, Jeff King; Chief Financial Officer David Wood; Chief Administrative Officer Randy Wark; Vice-President, Membership, France Lafleur; SOCAN's General Counsel and Vice-President, Legal Services, Paul Spurgeon; Vice-President, Industry Relations and Strategic Intelligence, Christian Sarrazin; and Director of Marketing Communications, Betsy Chaly. Reporting to Jeff will be the Vice President of Distribution Operations, Mike Lewin; Vice President, Information Technology, Janice Scott; Vice President, Corporate Planning & Business Change, Dan Greenwood; and Vice President, Licensing, Jennifer Brown.
Megatrax Music Welcomes Joe Falkner As New Division Manager, Aircast Production
Broadcast industry veteran Joe Falkner has signed with Megatrax Production Music to serve as Division Manager for the company's new custom music venture, Aircast Production. Falkner, who will be based in Dallas, will bring to Aircast his expertise in helping television stations and cable networks find the right music to express their brands to the company's unique custom scoring division.
As Division Manager at Aircast, Falkner's role will focus on building new client relationships and providing the highest level of customer attention and service. Through his extensive experience, he brings to the table a keen understanding of the unique challenges of today's television industry. Prior to joining Aircast, Falkner served as Vice President Sales and Marketing at Stephen Arnold Music.
Nat Annamalai Expands His Role At HFA
The Harry Fox Agency, a leading provider of licensing and royalty calculation and distribution services for the music industry, announced the expansion of Nat Annamalai's role to Vice President, Business Development & Revenue Assurance.
In his expanded role, Annamalai now works closely with Business Development to identify and pursue potential clients for HFA's Administration Services offerings, which provide seamless back-office solutions for rights administration along with transaction advisory services. Annamalai will leverage his strong industry experience and business relationships to ensure both new and existing clients realize the benefits of HFA's Administration Services opportunities. Working with the Business Development team, he will develop customized solutions to best suit clients' needs, and work with HFA's Finance group to generate pricing models.
In addition, Annamalai will continue to direct the efforts of the Royalty Compliance department, inclusive of developing and implementing reporting and system applications to ensure royalty compliance examinations are conducted in an optimal manner on behalf of HFA's clients.
