BMG North America Appoints Billy Mann President Of Creative
BMG announced the appointment of Billy Mann as its President of Creative, BMG North America. He will be based in the company's New York headquarters and will report to Richard Blackstone, Chief Creative Officer of BMG North America. Billy Mann will work closely with Richard Blackstone in overseeing the creative staff, and roster integration of recently acquired companies as well as leading efforts to attract, develop and sign new talent. Mann, a veteran hit songwriter/producer, is EMI Music's former President of International, New Music and President of Global Artist Management.BMG offers the entire range of music rights administration and places the needs of songwriters and artists at the core of its business model. Since its founding in late 2008, it has completed a number of major acquisitions including Crosstown Songs America, Cherry Lane Music Publishing Inc., Stage Three Music and Evergreen Copyrights as well as signed a number of prominent artists and songwriters.
PigFactory Music Promotes Adam Wolf To Vice President, Creative
Independent publishing and licensing company pigFACTORY Music has promoted Adam Wolf to the position of Vice President, Creative. Wolf had been Senior Creative Director.
In his new post, Wolf will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of marketing and licensing pigFACTORY's music for film, television, interactive, and advertising. Wolf will also proactively seek new songs and catalogs to add to pigFACTORY's roster.
"During the past five years Adam has been instrumental in expanding the placement of pigFACTORY's music across feature films, television shows and commercials. He is an invaluable asset to us, and is more than deserving of this promotion," Haldeman said.
SESAC Names Shannan Hatch To Senior Director, Writer/Publisher Relations
Performing Rights Organization SESAC has recently announced the promotion of Shannan Hatch to the position of Senior Director, Writer/Publisher Relations for SESAC. Formerly Director, Writer/Publisher Relations, Hatch will continue in the recruitment and nurturing of songwriters and publishers as well as the retention of existing SESAC-affiliated writers and publishers. Hatch is based in SESAC's Nashville office.
The Source Magazine And TheSource.com Announce New Managing Editor
The Source Magazine and TheSource.com announced the addition of Reggie "Combat Jack" Osse to its editorial staff as the new Managing Editor.
Reggie Osse, author, blogger and noted Hip-Hop attorney, enters the new position handling both digital and print content. He will oversee daily updates to thesource.com and join the new "Mind Squad" editorial team. "My goal is to position The Source brand up front and center, back to the forefront of all things Hip-Hop," states Osse. As thesource.com continues to grow its numbers online, Osse also looks to create a bigger digital presence across the Source's multiple social networks as well.

Aspiro Music Hires Global Editorial Manager
Aspiro Music further strengthens WiMP's strong editorial profile by hiring Thor Martin Jensen as Global Editorial Manager. The company won recognition in 2010 for its focus on local music in the Nordic countries, while at the same time delivering a best-of-breed international catalogue.
Thor Martin Jensen will assume global responsibility for the overall strategy and management of editorial content within the WiMP services. Additionally he will function as Aspiro's spokesperson for WiMP in Denmark.
"I am thrilled with the prospect of taking part in establishing a global music service that delivers both an international and locally oriented user experience. Our listeners will be guided to the latest and greatest music in a intuitive and simple service," says Jensen.
For the last two years he has been working as a business developer at Issuu.com, a free online publishing community with millions of users worldwide. Furthermore, he has worked as a music journalist and blogger for various Danish music media including the Roskilde Festival and Soundvenue. Jensen is a MBA graduate from Copenhagen Business School.
CMA Announces New Hires In Strategic Partnerships Department
Sheri Warnke, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for the Country Music Association, has announced the hiring of Chris Epperly as the CMA Director of Strategic Partnerships and the return of Angela Mendenhall as the CMA Manager of Strategic Partnerships.
In the newly-created position of CMA Director of Strategic Partnerships, Epperly will promote the Country Music format to new companies and brands across the nation, develop new marketing and promotional resources, and spearhead the development of corporate solutions and opportunities for our partners. He brings more than 10 years experience in the event marketing and sponsorship industry. He joined CMA upon leaving the Charlotte, N.C.-based Mirrus, Inc., a brand identity and advertising company specializing in creating corporate awareness in facilities and live events. As Vice President, Brand Manager, he was directly responsible for presenting and selling company products and services to current and potential clients while operating in the field of marketing, branding, and multimedia advertising with focus in sports entertainment (includ! ing NASCAR and the PGA) and consumer products business sectors.
Prior to being at Mirrus, Epperly worked as a Senior Manager for more than six years at JHE Production Group, a full-service, live event entertainment production company providing expertise in sports entertainment, mobile marketing, and special events. He was responsible for the identification, evaluation, development, and execution of new opportunities and platforms for sponsorship and partnership revenues. In addition, he oversaw all contract negotiations and sponsorship packages for motorsport events including Food Lion Speed Street, and was instrumental in the launch of the 2007 and 2008 Sprint Experience, an at-track, mobile marketing display. While at JHE, Epperly worked with Chevrolet, GMR Marketing, Home Depot, NASCAR, Speed Channel, Sprint, and more event agencies and corporations.
Earlier in his career, Epperly worked as the Sprint/NEXTEL Account Executive for Octagon Marketing where he helped build and maintain all aspect of Sprint's marketing, activation, and hospitality efforts involved in and around their title sponsorship with NASCAR.
Prior to that, he was a Corporate Sales Manager for AT&T Communications, where he created and developed corporate partnerships and generated retail marketing plans.
Returning full-time to CMA, Mendenhall will develop and maintain strategic partnerships for all CMA assets, including CMA Music Festival, CMA Awards, CMA Songwriter Series, and more.
Mendenhall joined CMA in 2005 as a Regional Partnership Manager, and was promoted to National Partnership Manager a year later. During a reorganization of the department, she became an independent contractor for CMA in 2009.
Mendenhall developed CMA's long-standing relationship with Durango Boots, the 2008-2010 title partner of CMA Music Festival's Acoustic Corner at Fan Fair Hall as well as a CMA Awards promotional partner. She managed and built special programs for partners including Blue Bell Creameries, CMT, Coca Cola Consolidated, DiY Network, Dr. Pepper, Field and Stream, GAC, McDonalds, Microsoft, Outdoor Life Magazine, RFD-TV, Sony PlayStation, Waggin' Train Dog Treats, and Wrangler, among others.
She also created and brought a variety of special events to CMA Music Festival including the Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge (2008-2010), CMA Celebrity Cook Off (2009), CMA Music Festival BBQ Championship (2009), and the K9 Ultimate Sports Show (2007-2010).
Prior to joining CMA, Mendenhall was a Southeast Sales Representative for Southwest Airlines, where she was responsible for five markets including Cleveland, Columbus, Jacksonville, Nashville, and Tampa. She managed more than 200 corporate accounts and was charged with maximizing Southwest's brand exposure and commitment in each market.
