ThingLink Appoints Cortney Harding To New Evanegelist Role
Image engagement tools and Rich Media Tags creator ThingLink has expanded its senior team with the appointment of Cortney Harding to the newly created role of Music and Entertainment Evangelista. Formerly Music Editor at industry tome Billboard, Harding assumes responsibility for continuing ThingLink's expansion into music and wider entertainment markets, reporting to CMO Neil Vineberg.
While at Billboard, Harding was responsible for cover stories on the posthumous rebranding of Micheal Jackson, as well as for artists such as No Doubt, Josh Groban and Paramore, Previous to her editorship, Harding's journalistic career had seen her contribute to the likes of The Village Voice, Teen Vogue and Elle Girl.
One of Harding's initial responsibilities will be to work with artists and labels to transform their covers from from static images into 'Interactive Album Covers' - navigational platforms that feature links to rich media content from around the web. Recent implementations have included Gorillaz, Blink 182, Evanescence and Bruno Mars, all of which have resulted in click-through and engagement rates unheard of with standard images alone.
CEntrance Hires Michael Mercer to Promote Growing Hi-Fi Line
CEntrance announced the hiring of Michael Mercer as company's new Director of Marketing. In his new role, Mr. Mercer will be responsible for building the CEntrance brand in the Hi-Fi and Consumer Electronics channels. A boutique Design Agency for dozens of famous audio brands and a growing manufacturer of fine audio products, CEntrance adds Mr. Mercer to its team to build market awareness of its award-winning home audio solutions. The latest additions to the CEntrance product line are DACmini PX - a desktop Integrated Amplifier with an Audiophile DAC and Headphone Amp, and DACport LX - the world's smallest 24/96 USB DAC.
Michael Mercer got his start in the music industry at Atlantic Records and Warner Music. Having mentored under the legendary Grammy award-winning producer Arif Mardin he worked with artists such as Jewel, Sugar Ray, the Corrs, Chaka Khan, and Brandy. As a music writer Michael has contributed to The Absolute Sound, HiFi+, Positive Feedback Online and many other publications. Most recently, Mr. Mercer focused on brand-building and social media marketing for several leading Hi-Fi brands.
Meilina Dalit Joins Mad Sun Marketing
Mad Sun Marketing, a boutique music and audio marketing and PR agency, has added Meilina Dalit to its staff as marketing & PR associate. Dalit is a recent graduate of U.C. Berkeley and has previously worked with the renowned Cal Performances program, and at Yoshi's, San Francisco's legendary jazz club.

Audio-Technica Names Doug Swan Director of Sales, MI/Pro Audio
Audio-Technica, a leading innovator in transducer technology for over 45 years, has announced the appointment of Doug Swan to the position of Director of Sales, MI/Pro Audio. Michael Edwards, Vice President Professional Markets, made the announcement and indicated that Swan's appointment will serve to propel A-T toward continued growth in the Musical Instrument and Professional Audio market sectors.
In his new position, Swan will be responsible for the overall management of the MI and Pro Audio channel within Audio-Technica. He will focus on driving sales for A-T U.S. and its dealer network by working closely with A-T's internal sales force and their accounts, as well A-T's independent manufacturer's representatives. Additionally, he will be developing new sales programs that will allow all dealers to grow and maintain even more profitability.
With an impressive background in music and business, Doug is a very experienced MI and Pro Audio industry professional who has lived in California and Florida for most of his adult life. In addition to managing his own rep firm, his previous positions have included sales and marketing responsibilities for Sennheiser USA and the Roland Systems Group.
Warner Music Group appoints Kei Ishizaka as Chairman & CEO, Warner Music Japan
Warner Music Group announced the appointment of Kei Ishizaka as Chairman & CEO, Warner Music Japan. Ishizaka, a seasoned and widely respected music executive, will spearhead the development of all aspects of Warner Music Japan's activities across domestic and global repertoire. His responsibilities will include finding and nurturing the best local talent, creating new opportunities for international artists and expanding the company's range of artist services. Effective from 1st November, he will report to Lachie Rutherford, President, Warner Music Asia Pacific.
Kei Ishizaka arrives at Warner Music from Universal Music, where he was a Senior Advisor for the company and non-Executive Chairman, Universal Music Japan. He joined the company in 1994 as President, Universal Music Japan (then PolyGram K.K.), rising to President/CEO in 2001 and becoming Chairman and Chief Executive in 2006. Under Kei Ishizaka's leadership, Universal Music LLC (Japan) made history in 2008 by becoming market leader for the first time since its formation over 50 years earlier.
Ishizaka has been a board member of the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) since 1999, becoming Chairman in 2007, and continuing to act as the organisation's Senior Advisor today. In 2009, the Emperor of Japan awarded him Medal with Purple Ribbon in recognition of his contribution to the record industry. Before his tenure at Universal Music, Ishizaka was at Toshiba-EMI for 26 years. At EMI he rose to Executive Director in 1991, having worked with international legends including Pink Floyd and John Lennon as well as local superstars such as BOOWY and Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi.
Stephanie Garcia Joins The Blue Pie Team!

Steinway CEO Dana Messina Steps Down; Chairman Michael Sweeney Appointed Interim CEO
Steinway Musical Instruments announced the resignation of CEO Dana Messina. Earlier this year, Steinway announced it was evaluating offers for Company assets and other strategic alternatives. Mr. Messina has agreed to step down as the Company's CEO, a position he has held since 1996, due to his involvement in developing several of the strategic alternatives which the Company is considering. He will remain on Steinway's Board of Directors.
Messina said, "Leading Steinway has been the job of a lifetime and I leave very proud of what we've accomplished over the last 15 years. It was a difficult decision to step down, but I know we have an extraordinary team of operating managers who will continue to lead this business to further success. I have no doubt that Steinway's best days lie ahead."
Chairman Michael Sweeney will serve as Steinway's CEO for an interim period. He became a director of the Company in April 2011 and was appointed Chairman in July. Mr. Sweeney is Chairman of the Board of Star Tribune Media Holdings. He previously served as the president of Starbucks Coffee Company (UK) Ltd.
