Eurosonic Noorderslag Adopts 'Game-Changing' Intellitix RFID Technology
All conference and festival ticket holders will be issued with an RFID wristband, provided by Dutchband
Eurosonic Noorderslag, the European Music Conference and Showcase Festival, has partnered with RFID festival solution specialists Intellitix to implement a revolutionary RFID access control system at both the festival and conference in January 2012.
All conference and festival ticket holders will be issued with an RFID wristband, provided by Dutchband, which enables them to scan in and out of all venues and De Oosterpoort conference area. The Intellitix system will also be used to hold tickets and free drinks for the European Festival Awards (on Wednesday 11 Jan), and RFID touch points in selected panels will allow delegates to access free content and presentations.
"As a festival organizer, the Intellitix system will allow us to reduce queuing times, gauge exactly how popular each band is, and to provide a range of interactive services for our delegates,” says Eurosonic Noorderslag Ruud Berends. "And because it's a system designed for and proven at festivals, we're sure it'll be of interest to many of the visitors.”
"Not only is Eurosonic Noorderslag the most popular showcase and professional event in Europe, but this suite of RFID tools makes it the most technologically advanced,” says Intellitix CIO Greg Parmley. "We'll be looking to expand the system in future years by adding integration with social media and many of the other benefits that RFID technology brings.”
While the collected data will be used internally only, professional delegates will still have the option to anonymize their wristband should they wish.
