Chinese Indie Band The Gar Marks Its 2014 Return With "Time Cue Remix" EP
"Time Cue Remix" is an EP with The Gar's original vocals but with an added element of Electronic music
Music has always been an art form in which people can connect and identify themselves with. Either by melodious tones or the emotion in the lyrics, music has served as a unifier amongst people, no matter where they reside. That's the message that Chinese indie label Maybe Mars expresses. Founded in 2007, the label's roster holds some of China's most recognized and promising musicians that need an outlet to feed their music at a global scale. Their latest release from Chinese rock band The Gar is sure to please music enthusiast of China's growing indie scene.
The Gar is known to be a band that stays true to their roots; never being persuaded by the fads or novelties in music. Their tenacious attitude towards music has lead them to have a strong following of fans that love their unruly ability to capture their audiences with pleasing melodies and soothing lyrics that can evoke emotions from the core of their souls. However, The Gar has been on a hiatus after a mishap with one of their band members leaving the group, leaving the band distraught. But The Gar have come back into prominence by releasing their latest EP "Time Cue Remix", featuring EDM DJs Sulumi, Me:Mo and Dead J.
"Time Cue Remix" is an EP with The Gar's original vocals but with an added element of Electronic music. At first, the EP has an original piece from the band to set the tone of the EP; making it known it is still their creative work. But as soon as the next track plays the listeners is ushered into a whole new realm where Electronica greets Rock. The sound for "Time Cue Remix" has a classic, electro feel of the early work of Depeche Mode, but with a more aggressive progression of sound similar to Nine-Inch Nails. Each DJ has a dedicated track in which the engineer the sound to form a completely new spin on The Gar's music, without tarnishing their creativity.
In turn, The Gar's latest effort "Time Cue Remix" is their stamp to their return to music, and it resonates from within China to the rest of the world. The band is only picking up steam now, with more projects on the way and their label churning out more music. The future is brighter than ever for the band, and their new EP "Time Cue Remix" will definitely garner interest from music fans across the globe.
