Lone Wolf James - Prey Badd Moon Productions
Artist: Lone Wolf James (www.lonewolfjames.com)
Title: Prey
Label: Badd Moon Productions
Genre: Rock
With a name like Lone Wolf James, how can you miss? I know his first name is Gary, but that's all the press kit told me. That's why he has the AKA of LWJ. No last name? Oh well. Besides, it's more fun to have an aura of mystery surrounding a performer.
Speaking of the music, you get nothing but to-the-bone unrestrained vigor on "Prey." What this man creates with his voice, guitar, and lyrics is a sincere emulation of the inner turmoil we all experience at one time or another. A healing process happens when one human being hears of another's trials and tribulations. LMJ beckons you to let the music move you, and your soul will be an open door.
This is high-octane acoustic rock, with blues around the edges to push the envelope that contains the lyrics along one step further.
The evocative opener "Night Of The Scarecrow" is chilling, as it is exciting. "Just A Bone", gives you the crushing realities of life with slap-in-the-face lines like- "In a world of dog eat dog, you're just a bone." Lord have mercy, talk about it LWJ! Then the entire world instantly becomes a lonesome stage on the track "Center Stage."
All of these songs speak of how lonely one can feel when the pressures of everyday life come closing in on you. Whether it's a bump in the night, or a total crash and burn, LWJ lays it on the line in his music. He invites you to decide who will be the prey, you, or life itself. You can be consumed, chewed up, and spit out by life, or the world can be your oyster, the choice is yours.
I love the name, the music, and the cover of the CD. I'm completely sold. Now I am ready for another helping.
