JackieOnAssid - Meditation Man
Artist: JackieOnAssid (www.jackieonassid.com)
Title: Meditation Man (remixes)
Genre: Techno
This is one of 3 cds I received from London boy,
JackieOnAssid. This time it's a 4 song EP of
'Meditation Man' remixes, and one Phatt Free remix of
'Hollywood Bedsit,' all from JOA's Zip Me Up album.
The MM remixes are all highly disturbed and
technically articulate. High profile production and
electronically, this is music that has come to a
rolling boil.
My fav is probably the 'Tranceformation' remix, which
has electronica vs. techno beats behind it, pitched at
skydivers and sleeping whores. While it Would wake up
the boring population also, there's a scary element
running through this tune, like something that
might've found great favor in Shocker, that great and
underrated Wes Craven flick.
'Freakshow' remix is just as it sounds. Freaky,
swirling with voices and stereophonic radio feedback,
much like a Bowie remix from his Outside years.
Frightening, glossy in its putrefied coat of rotten
candy-coated sounds of intrigue and subversive
delights.
Having listened to this cd before the cd from which
the tunes were taken makes me really want to get into
the main sound of JackieOnAssid and compare. I'm got
my crash helmet on my knee, and I'm ready for it.
