French music channels Muzzik and Mezzo merge

A European Commission-approved merger of French music channels Mezzo
(controlled by Lagardère and Vivendi-Universal) and Muzzik (controlled by
France Télécom and France Télévision).
Mezzo and MCM Jazz-Muzzik (Muzzik) are two French television channels
specialising in classical music, jazz and world music. They broadcast by
cable and satellite in France and other EU countries. Under the agreement
notified to the Commission on 5 November 2001, Mezzo will take control of
Muzzik by merger-takeover.
