Billboard magazine and Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation (HBC), the largest
Spanish-language radio broadcaster in the US, have announced a deal making
HBC the official radio network of the annual Billboard Latin Music Awards
Show, scheduled for May 7-9 at the Eden Roc Resort & Spa in Miami Beach. The
Show will cap a 3-day Latin Music Conference.
HBC will have a week of programming on the network's 54 radio stations. A
two-hour Finalists' Music Special on May 6 will feature interviews with
Award finalists and the music that launched them to the top of the Billboard
charts. HBC will broadcast live from Conference events on May 7-9. Coverage
will culminate with HBC's red-carpet pre-show and simulcast of sizzling
performances, celebrity appearances and winner announcements at the 2002
Billboard Latin Music Awards.
Finalists are chosen based on their performances on Billboard's Hot Latin
Tracks and Top Latin Albums charts, which comprise radio airplay and sales.
Past performers include Marc Anthony, Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin, Tito
Puente, Shakira, Son By Four and many more.
