Video on demand provider, Intertainer, says it's now $15 million richer having
received funds from Thomson Consumer Electronics (a new equity partner) and
Microsoft, which increased its existing investment in the company. Other
partners include Sony and Intel NBC.
Intertainer has also expanded its digital cable deployments with Comcast and
Adelphia Communications. Its library features films from major Hollywood
studios and a variety of television and music programming. Users have,
"instant access to more than 700 hours of programming at any given time,
with full VCR functionality, allowing them to stop, fast-forward and rewind
their selections," says the company.
