Artist: Sylvie Lewis (www.sylvielewis.com)
Title: Beautiful Mess
Label: Holdenbass Music
Genre: Folk-Pop

Sylvie Lewis has a new release called "Beautiful Mess." The title is a reflection of life itself; it can be one big beautiful mess at times. The picture of her on the cover reveal eyes that are of a kindred soul that has traveled to many lands, whether it is in this life or another lived long ago. Perhaps that is why she sounds so confident and knowing when she sings.

This is the kind of album that grows on you with each listen. I gave it a spin the first time and enjoyed it, and then the next day I listened again and heard some more things that caught my ear. Not only is this quality music, there are some cleverly thought out lyrics. Lewis has a contagiously warm voice that delivers a song in a most endearing way.

There are tracks on this CD I can envision playing on the radio this summer. "A Town Like Alice" and "Long Before I Knew You" would be good picks for airplay. The only sad part of this entire experience is that it ends so quickly. That's probably why I found myself reaching for this CD to play it again so soon. A lot of folk and pop music is uneventful and boring; this was like a breath of fresh air. Call it musical invigoration if you will.

Go ahead, do your self a favor and pick up this CD. Before you put it in your CD player grab a nice cold glass of lemonade and then sit by the pool to listen to Sylvie Lewis. This summer will be a special one if you do.
