Native American Music will be regarded as the eternal symbol for the new World Vision of the 21st Century. This new Vision is simply, the global desire to obtain eternal peace through a collective clarity of thought. Native music was always functional and considered a necessity in order to heal, give thanks, and to look inward and beyond, while celebrating the earth. Native music is the next big genre of music, no doubt, and will play a huge role in the popular American music scene, similar to the role jazz music plays in American culture today. The reason being there is a universal renaissance in consciousness and is symbolic in tribal ship. Individual members of tribes gained courage and inspiration by having a shared vision versus a competitive individual vision. Native Americans were aware of the ability to enrich their lives via two-way energy...soul to soul. Today Native American Music is the strongly rhythmic, melodic voice of the Native American soul that was sequestered and repressed for so long.

How fitting that Felipe Rose, "The Indian" and a founding member of the still strong Village People group, has also embarked upon a solo career with the July 1, 2002 release of the TRAIL OF TEARS CD. Felipe wrote and produced TRAIL OF TEARS, which depicts the plight of the Cherokee Indians in the 1800's. Beginning in the year 1815, the Native Americans experienced a forced removal from their homes by the 'Conquerors' of North America and displaced to isolated and reserved areas. Felipe Rose stated, "I believe that the United States of America may never fully grasp the pain that the Cherokee Nation and the many other Native Nations experienced having their way of life destroyed. Imagine being forced onto reservations, some with, but many without their families. Hence, lyrics to TRAIL OF TEARS include "One Tribe, One Trail, One Home...Not Knowing What Is Theirs To Keep, They Weren't Afraid To Die, Crying On A Trail Of Tears."

Felipe continues, "My journey into Native music has become a spiritual journey not just in music, but trying to conceptualize my father's life on the Pineridge Reservations and his journey in the 1950's to New York City, two places seemingly two worlds apart. Felipe wrote and produced TRAIL OF TEARS at Tomahawk Records, a songwriting and recording Development Company that Felipe created in 1996. (www.tomahawkrecords.com) TRAIL OF TEARS enables the collision of two worlds...Pop dance music collides with Native music, which triggers euphoria and energy coming full circle.

If EVERY ROSE HAS A THORN sings Poison, Felipe Rose's thorn is smoothed through his journey into Native music that has simultaneously enriched and humbled this timely messenger. Swift Arrow, the spirit name of Felipe Rose, will lead countless others toward the light, his music serving as an instrument of energy.

Addition to Felipe Rose's career with the Village People and his solo career involving Native American music, Felipe is collaborating with Forest Lawson of Frost Bite Productions. (www.frostbiteproductions.com) Felipe is currently working on a tribal-Latin album CD along with writing partner Forrest "Frosty" Lawson who also serves as the composer and arranger of this interesting blend of tribal-Latin music project entitled SEVENTH GENERATION.

The Native American Music Association founded by Ellen Bello in 1998 is responsible for awakening the music industry by example...displaying musical solidarity via enlightenment and a unified spirit. The Native American Music Association is hosting its fifth annual NAMMY Award Show on September 7, 2002 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the Marcus Amphitheater. Felipe Rose and his TRAIL OF TEARS recording have been nominated for the Best Song/Single of the Year, The Best Historical Recording, and Felipe Rose as the Best Producer! Any human, red, white, blue, yellow, or black has the privilege to participate by voting for their choice of NAMMY nominee on-line at www.nammys.com/public/login.cfm.

Listen for the pulse of the universe as we learn, feel, and remember synchronicity through the music of Felipe Rose. (No reservations required!) Allow Felipe Rose's music to guide you to wholeness that results from zero input from controlled schools of thought!
