OD2 announced the release of the company's updated subscription software, WedAudioNet's. For a fixed monthly fee, subscribers are given a block of 500 credits which they can use to stream (1 credit), download (10 credits) or purchase to burn (100 credits). The company also announced that music retailer HMV should be offering its subscription service, joining European retail partners MSN, Tiscali, Freeserve and Ministry of Sound. On the label side, OD2 has confirmed that independent record companies V2, Mushroom, Ninja Tune, Greensleeves and Skint will be distributing their catalogues, including Fatboy Slim, the Stereophonics, Shaggy and Garbage.
Ed Averdieck, Marketing Director, OD2, said: 'Music lovers have been crying out for a service that is slick, easy to use and packed full of features. With Version 2 we have a fixed price service that puts choice in the hands of the consumer.'
