Microsoft's Australian Tunes
Microsoft plans to launch a music store in Australia peddling music from the Big Five (Four, Three?).
To be called ninemsn.com, it'll be 'powered' by OD2, Peter Gabriel's company with which MS already has a deal for Europe and is a joint venture between Microsoft and Australia's Publishing and Broadcasting Limited.

"We know from monitoring sales figures in both Europe and North America that take-up is directly related to the number of commercial tracks available," OD2 ceo Charles Grimsdale says in a ZDNet Australia story here.
Consequently, ninemsn.com (Just rolls off the tongue, don't it? heh) will be offering 250,000 tracks.
