Sunrise Night Concert With Philadelphia Orchestra Musicians And Chinese Artists
The Philadelphia Orchestra musicians, Oriental Angels, Chinese cross-over singer Jia Ruhan and French pianist Sylvain Gourlay presented outstanding performances

The Sunrise Night Concert, featuring Philadelphia Orchestra Musicians and Chinese Artists, was performed at the Shanghai Center Theatre on May 24, 2014. The Philadelphia Orchestra musicians, Oriental Angels, Chinese cross-over singer Jia Ruhan and French pianist Sylvain Gourlay presented outstanding performances.

The evening's concert began with the Oriental Angels, a female Chinese folk instrumental group, who performed "Evening Song in the Fishing Boat," "Music Charm of Jiangnan," and "Spring." Then six Philadelphia Orchestra musicians joined the Oriental Angels to perform "The Moon Over a Fountain" and "Jasmine Flowe.r"

After the intermission, the Philadelphia Orchestra musicians presented four chapters from Johannes Brahm's "String Sextet No. 2 in G Major op. 36" Their splendid performances won enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Next, the Chinese cross-over singer Jia Ruhan and French pianist Sylvain Gourlay came on stage to perform "Ave Maria" and ‘If You See Me Now' with Philadelphia Orchestra musicians. The song "Ave Maria" written by Sylvain Gourlay & Francois Olivier Nolorgues, specifically for Jia Ruhan. These two songs are featured in two of Jia Ruhan's albums, "Smile" and "Time to Grow". This convert is the first time these two songs were arranged for a live on-stage performance, resulting in an exciting new sensation.

The last song of the concert created a sensational reaction from the audience. All the musicians from the Philadelphia Orchestra, Jia Ruhan, Sylvain Gourlay and the Oriental Angles came together onstage to perform "Rose, Rose, I Love You," a 70 year old Chinese pop song. The synergy between all the artists injected new life into this well-known song. The dazzling performance by all the artists made the audience shout out their approval and enjoyment.
